How this board is put together

A topic board is for subjects people learn about and share: history, science, animals. It leans on explainer threads, questions and images, and keeps a news column for anything new.

All the columns share the same search term, (cat OR cats OR kitten), and then narrow it. Latest columns open X's Latest tab sorted by time. Media columns open the Media tab, and Top columns open the default ranking, which favors posts with more engagement.

Make it fit

  • Explainer threads often include errors. Check a claim against a primary source before you repost it.
  • Drop min_faves on the Images column for a niche subject, where 100 likes is rare.
  • Engagement thresholds like min_faves: and min_retweets: are rough. Raise them if a column is noisy, drop them if it stays empty.
